I've kind of been 'absent' lately...

Yep, I've got my excuses all lined up. I've been busy; very, very busy. (If the punctuation police are out there, keep your thoughts to yourself).

Actually, after I spent days working on our taxes, I had numerous wifely duties to perform that kept me away from the blogo-sphere. If you are thinking of the 'good' wifely duties, you'd be wrong. (I'm just sayin'...)

We sold the Mazdaratti. Well, I sold the Mazdaratti. The RGH was away working and missed another momentous occasion. Those that know about my love affair with my Mazda are wondering WHY, in blue blazes, would I sell that car. I loved it. And it's true, I did.

But I love my husband more and he wanted to buy me something spectacular for my 50th birthday and it just happened that someone in our family was selling a 3 yr. old BMW X5 that was white and had tan leather seats. It also happened that this particular car fits my very tall RGH a little nicer than the Mazdaratti did. And although it isn't in my nature to go for the NAME of things, the RGH is very into cars and BMW trumps Mazda in his eyes.

Bottom line, when your husband gives you a gift that he is proud of, you love it...and I do. I miss my Mazdaratti because, well, it was a Mazdaratti. What cool thing can you call a BMW. I am sorry but BEAMER sounds like a derogatory name to  me. I call it a Bulls eye because even when I park it far, far away; some clunker chooses the parking space next to me and comes in close. I think they hope the BMW rubs off or something.

Did I mention that it's white? And it gets over 110 here in the summer? Did I mention that?

Anyway, back to why I haven't been around...

Also, we have had sickies in our midst. My mother-in-law has been super sick with some kind of coughing crud. I was really worried. She appears to be on the mend, finally. Also, our little Ty has something that the doctors can't seem to figure out. Really high fevers and bad congestion in his lungs. He's been sick for almost two weeks. We are waiting for the Valley Fever test results. I pray it isn't that. I hope it's just a virus that will go away soon. Ty has asthma and is only four years old. Valley Fever is deadly for normal lungs. Asthma is a bad combination.

Anyway, I am here and I will try to get on the posting bandwagon and do a better job keeping up my blog.

Sorry for the inconvenience since I know all two of you look forward to my goofy musings.

Blessings,
MaryC

Glad to see you back! Woo woo - a BMW! My gram, who has a few screws loose, used to call them Bimmies because she couldn't remember the word Beamers ;-) Fingers crossed that all the sickness goes away soon. We had all sorts of illness here from Nov-Feb so we can sympathize. Try not to catch any of it yourself - extra Vitamin C for you.

I love your car's nick names. I had a red Jeep Cherokee I used to call Clifford. Hmm... I guess I need a nickname for my black GMC Envoy XL. LOL... come up with something clever for me! LOL

Hope you're all better soon!
