A very BIG birthday.
A milestone I never believed I would reach.
FIFTY.
It sounds huge.
It came really fast.
I had a terrific time turning Fifty. My family treated me really, really well. I had a trip to Las Vegas. My Sister-in-Law and her hubby treated me to dinner and a show two nights in a row. I saw Danny Gans (and if you ever get the chance - GO!) and The Jersey Boys (also amazing) and had two fabulous and rich dinners. It was the best. They made my birthday really special.
The RGH took me shopping and I got two nice dresses. I haven't any dresses in my closet that aren't supposed to be worn poolside or to Wal-Mart. Nothing for a wedding, nice dinner or a funeral. I am no longer dress-less. If only you could buy class...but thats another post.
I also got an iPod touch. I didn't have an iPod. I know, I know. How frugal is that? Not very. I turned fifty, people and we couldn't afford a body lift. The iPod had to be enough. It's really fun. And the green part is, I can download books! No trees get slaughtered but I can still enjoy a good read...or a good listen.
My girls came and we all had a great dinner out. The grandson's got me the funnest card. My daughter lets them pick it themselves. It was the four year old's turn to pick. It says Happy Birthday Grand Daughter. Isn't that hilarious?
Anyway, I'll have to let you know how it is once the party has worn off. I am still on the sugar high.
That being said, my friend TARA has mentioned my lack of creative posts lately. Just so you know, I haven't made much except this:
This is the project I made from one of the lessons from Product Pizzazz at Get It Scrapped!. This has been a fun class and the folks at the message board over there are really great. So, that's all I got that's finished. Enjoy the moment.
Blessings,
Mary

So, what you are saying is that when you turn 50 you eat lots of good food, shop for cute dresses, go to shows and party, get to eat lunch out with cute boys...Can I be 50 TODAY? It sounds SO MUCH MORE FUN than 39 (which is where I'm headed!!!)
There is a present in transit..I hope you get PART of it today...the rest won't be there until later this week!
HUGS and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! (late!)
Happy Birthday, Mary.
Glad to hear you celebrated with style :-)
If turning 50 looks that good -- I'd do it tomorrow! :)
I own dresses... they're never worn and I dont know why I don't just donate them to a welfare-to-work program but I tend to hang onto SOME things for the "just in case"
BUT... Happy Birthday... (again) and ... are you getting push button finger from your IPOD?
Jane Jetson used to get that on the Jetson's you know? LOL
