Proof I Am A Hopeless Romantic

This morning I was looking out my kitchen window and admiring the RGH's roses in the backyard. Yes, my RGH is a 'rose guy'. He loves them and it is he who lovingly cares for them in our yard. My only responsibility is to admire them and gush adorations about them in his presence. What a great trade-off!

As I was looking out, I noticed that the Don Juan he planted last year was beginning to bloom. Big, beautiful red blossoms that are climbing a trellis on the back fence. This made me think of the movie, Don Juan deMarco with Johnny Depp. One of my all time favorite movies. I own a copy.

So then, I started thinking about all my favorite movies. Here are a list of a few of them:
Don Juan deMarco
A Walk In The Clouds
Gone With The Wind
Pride and Prejudice
The Lake House
Mama Mia
The Bridges of Madison County
Sense and Sensibility
Pretty Woman
Ghost
An Officer and a Gentleman

Well, I could go on...the list is long. Then there are books which are too numerous to list but most of them are romances. What can I say? And the steamier the better. Currently, I am reading a series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. The Dark Hunter series. I once dreamed of writing romance novels. I even took a course that was offered at the Community College. But that dreamed eventually passed with the realization that I am a better talker than writer.

When I write on my blog, I just type what I am saying in my head. Even the goofy parts get typed. My brain is too random to actually make a big story with all the nuances required in a romance novel.

Instead, I just absorb the romantic musings of others, sigh quietly to myself and wait for the RGH to get home. You know...to be romantic with me.

Go forth and be romantic.

Blessings,
MaryC

hahaha, I am with you and understand exactly what you are saying!
I will have to think about what type I am - definitely NOT a helpless romantic. I am more of a Agatha Christie, Sherlock Holmes, Stephen King kinda person. Books and flicks. The gorier the better. Well, not too gory.
My hubs is the ultimate helpless romantic. Yep, that big bubba. Got to love it.
