The Best Laid Plans...

You have heard that saying, "Measure twice, cut once"? Well, it covers a lot of turf.

This weekend I started working on my first holiday post. I was going to do a video post on how to make Apple Butter in the crock-pot and put it up for gift giving. I had big plans. You were going to actually SEE MaryC in action.

I set up my computer, got out all my best looking tools, collected my ingredients and put my recipe notes on the counter. I had some good jokes planned and some little peeks into MaryC's warped life.

After filming part one of the making of Apple Butter in the crock pot. I viewed my creation. The first thing I noticed was that the labels on my ingredients appeared to be written backwards. Then I noticed that I was viewing my kitchen in reverse. Very odd. A problem with my web-cam software perhaps? How annoying.

Frankly, I would have posted it anyway and just made some crack about looking better with a mirror image. However, I also noticed that I had completely left out one of the major ingredients. Since I am no editing genius, I had no way to fix that. I did run over to the crock pot and add the left out part. But I scrapped the video idea. Sorry people. I will try again with something else. But I need to figure out that editing stuff first.

I did find that there was a couple of patches to fix my web-cam problem. I have Vista in 64bit and it has a plethora of issues to deal with. Many drivers just don't like Vista. I would go to Windows 7 but I have eliminated most of my problems on Vista. I don't feel like starting over. Why didn't I buy a Mac?

I am photographing the Apple butter tutorial. When it is complete, I will post it here. If I figure out the editing, maybe I'll post an excerpt from the infamous video for your entertainment.

Blessings,
MaryC

ha ha... this SO sounds like something I would do.

It's funny the things that Drew will eat and not eat. He HATES butter on ANYTHING of his but he LOOOOOOOOVES apple butter on his toast! LOVES it! I think it will be fantastic to make it together and let him enjoy his own creation! Can't wait to read how!
